ALEX FISHER is a writer and curator from Buffalo, New York. Currently, he is pursuing a master’s in Design Studies at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He is interested in the lyricism and lingo of the built environment and (re)formations of legacy, especially in post-socialist contexts. In 2019-2020, he served as a Fulbright Ukraine Student Research Fellow. During that period, he studied compound relations between contemporary art, heavy industry, politics, and armed conflict in cooperation with a variety of public and private organizations. In fall 2021, he curated ‘Dedication – Traces and Tactics,’ an exhibition of Ukrainian contemporary art. He is a Graduate Student Associate at Harvard’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies. His work has been supported by the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute.
