The School of Wind and Waves is dedicated to cultural techniques of the wilderness. With an eye on small gestures, useful tricks and small hacks, the newly founded school teaches how to handle things of nature with childlike curiosity. Something between a scout course and a school of life, with a healthy dose of longing for the simpler things and the feeling of endless summer days, the School of Wind and Waves is an artistic project that uses memories and experiences to carefully approach the wilderness with the creatures and things that inhabit it. Below, you’ll find the school’s first contribution, whose founder is the artist and theater maker Jimmy Grima. The Lizard Trap is a step-by-step tutorial on the art of catching lizards. It marks the starting point for a number of other illustrated contributions that will explore the flora and fauna over the next few months.
